What? Never tried it? Well, that was my shiz back in 1977-79. Boy-OH-Boy! Mmmm Good!
Ok, you get the point.
And, perhaps a "judgement" is made on some level. Now, some people get all uptight about the words "judgement" and "judgemental." However, as people, we ALL form some sort of an opinion and often times those opinions are directed at others whether they be good OR bad.
So, like it or not, there are people in the WORLD that do like all three of these: Nascar, Budweiser, and George W. Bush.
And, clearly, there are those that like PB, J & M.
Perhaps therein lies part of the problem in the US of A. Now, I'm not saying that on one end of the spectrum you have Nascar and Bud and on the other you have a sandwich. My point is this: we all like our own thing. We ALL have our own opinions, our own values and our own perspective.
Somewhere along the way these things evolve. A genesis takes place whether we want it to or not. Systems, powers, people and advertisers may affect the ride we're on. Communities, teams, churches and pastors may also play a part. Emotional turmoil, tragedy, the human condition and behavior. There are so many factors in one's own experience and journey that make-up the individual.
SO, why does our current system boil down to a choice right out of Wonderland? A scene from the Matrix?
Red (pill) or the Blue (pill) ?
Is everything so black and white? Is YOUR life that easy to break down to "this" or "that?" Really? Ok, perhaps that is the case..
I contend that life is more gray. Has more details. And, sometimes requires more information to make an informed decision.
So, if someone believes in "choice" they're a Democrat?
If someone believes in the Second Amendment they are a Republican? Ok, if they believe in bearing arms, own a gun and a member of the NRA they are , without question, a Republican?
Well, certainly if "they" like Nascar, Budweiser AND George W. Bush!
Judgement.
Maybe. Maybe Not.
I, for one, want to live in a world where someone is "pro choice" AND is a gun-toting NRA member who's president is Charlton "from my cold, dead hands" Heston. RIP. Where someone likes Nascar, Budweiser, Bush AND PB J & M!
Gray? Color?
I don't know, but not Black, White, Blue, Red. IS this truly an expression of Freedom?
America, clearly, enjoys their pills. I'm just not so convinced that there is mass satisfaction with the Red or Blue options.
